SNTK Consensus Statement

This consensus has been developed to identify and consolidate what women and their families really need to know about ovarian cancer, so that a meaningful improvement can be made in the outcome of women diagnosed with the disease.

 

ENGAGe convened a taskforce of leading healthcare professionals and patient group representatives specialised in the care of women with ovarian cancer to review the current reality of ovarian cancer management, identify gaps in knowledge and agree on the critical information that every women needs to know about this disease.

 

She needs to know that there is something that can be done about ovarian cancer. 'She Needs To Know' aims to ensure all women are fully equipped with the following knowledge about ovarian cancer to enable them to make informed choices about prevention, early diagnosis and optimal treatment. Additionally, GPs should work with women to identify ovarian cancer symptoms more rapidly to allow for earlier diagnosis.
