Impact and achievements

At ENGAGe, we don’t just follow trends, we set them. Through our partnership with ESGO, we have built a tangible track record of empowering patients and influencing the medical field.

A Pioneer in Quality of Life (QoL)

Five years ago, ENGAGe began championing Quality of Life at a time when the gynaecological cancer field rarely discussed it. Today, while QoL has become a priority for all stakeholders, we continue to lead the way with evidence-based projects:

  • Groundbreaking Resources: We launched the “To My Soul” project and “Diagnosis Delivery Cards” to set new standards for emotional support and clinical communication.
  • Research-Driven Advocacy: In 2022, we conducted a landmark Sexual Health Survey. We continue to bridge the gap between patients and providers by launching QoL surveys that capture perspectives from both ENGAGe members and ESGO clinicians.

Leading the Conversation at the Highest Level

In January 2026, ENGAGe and ESGO reached a historic milestone by organizing the first-ever event at the European Parliament dedicated specifically to women’s health.

  • Representing the patient voice, Anne de Middeleer (ENGAGe Co-Chair-Elect) delivered a powerful and impactful speech addressing the "unmet needs" of women across Europe.
  • This landmark event brought unprecedented political attention to gynaecological cancers, ensuring our members' needs are heard by Europe’s top policymakers.

A Growing Global Network

Our influence is reflected in our steadily expanding community:

  • 80+ Member Organizations: We now represent over 80 patient advocacy groups across more than 30 countries.
  • Constant Growth: Every year, we are approached by new associations seeking to join our network. On average, we welcome at least three new member organizations annually, each gaining the education and tools needed to become a high-level advocate in their own region.

Our Track Record in Numbers

  • Educational Reach: Since 2011, we have hosted annual Patient Advocacy Seminars, produced over 30 specialized brochures, and delivered up to 4 webinars each year.
  • Multilingual Support: Our resources are available in 26 languages, made possible by the collaborative efforts of our members and ESGO clinicians.
  • Clinical Influence: Patients are now central to the medical process, actively creating and reviewing ESGO Guidelines and serving on ESGO Committees to provide essential patient perspectives.

Awareness & Digital Innovation

  • World Gynaecologic Oncology Day (World GO Day): Held every September 20th, this is our signature global initiative. In 2025, we reached a record-breaking 291 events organized by 167 organizations across 64 countries on 5 continents. This massive movement unites patients, survivors, and medical professionals to raise awareness for all gynaecological cancers simultaneously.
  • Digital Patient Pathways: To support women through every step of their journey, we have developed a series of dedicated digital guides:
    • Olivia: Our first digital guide, providing a comprehensive pathway for those navigating Ovarian Cancer.
    • Emilia: Launched in 2025 to provide specialized support for Endometrial Cancer.
    • Cecilia: Our newest addition, introduced in January 2026 to guide patients through Cervical Cancer.

While Olivia already has its own dedicated website, we are currently working to expand this digital ecosystem. We are actively seeking funding and partnerships to launch full web platforms for Emilia and Cecilia, ensuring that every woman—regardless of her diagnosis—has a clear, supportive digital map to follow.
