Surgery is often part of gynaecological cancer treatment, which can be a stressful moment in the patient’s pathway with cancer, when information and reassurance are needed. This brochure explains the different surgical options and helps patients prepare for what to expect before and after the operation.

Minimally invasive surgery (MIS), including both laparoscopic and robotic-assisted techniques, is a safe alternative to traditional open surgery for gynaecological cancer. MIS can offer faster recovery and fewer post-operative complications, and ongoing research may expand its role in the future.

For many patients, medical terms can feel unfamiliar and even a little frightening when first mentioned by a doctor. That is why we created a short video to explain, in simple words, what a robotic hysterectomy is, how it works, and what you can expect from the procedure. Thanks to our members, subtitles are available in more than 10 languages.
