PAS 2026 - Abstracts

How to Write a Good Abstract - and Why It Matters

At ENGAGe, we know how important it is to keep strengthening patient advocacy and to continue improving education and access to reliable information in our field. We also believe that patient voices should be visible - not only within their own communities, but also on international conferences.

One powerful way for patient advocacy groups to do this is by submitting and presenting abstracts at conferences. It gives them the opportunity to share their work, highlight the needs and challenges of their communities, and show the real impact they are making. It also helps raise awareness among clinicians and researchers, and encourages closer collaboration.

But we also understand that writing a strong patient advocacy abstract can sometimes feel a bit overwhelming - what to include, how to structure it, what the reviewers look for… it’s not always obvious.

That’s why this year we organised a dedicated webinar for our members and created a short, easy-to-follow brochure with practical tips on how to prepare a good patient advocacy abstract.

Our aim is to make the process clearer, more accessible, and hopefully also a bit more enjoyable!

Special Abstract Category at ESGO 2026!

This year, ESGO introduced a special abstract category dedicated exclusively to ENGAGe members - a wonderful opportunity for our community to showcase its work in patient advocacy.

We are excited to share that we received a number of excellent abstracts, covering creative, meaningful, and truly impactful topics.

All posters are now being evaluated and the selected ones will be proudly presented as posters at ESGO 2026 in Copenhagen in the exhibition hall.
