ENGAGe TEENs Project
This project consists of girls and boys from ages 13-19 that work to spread awareness about Human Papillomavirus/HPV, cervical cancer and the HPV vaccine to the youth of the world.
The background of the project is prevention of HPV, including cervical cancer and other HPV related cancers, and getting more teens to get the HPV vaccine. The reason that it should be teens reaching out to other teens is because they understand each other and know how to communicate with each other. Teens connect with and listen to their peers more than they would with adults.
If you are interested in joining the ENGAGe TEENs or if you have any questions, you are more than welcome. Please contact us by e-mail at: engage@esgo.org.

Selin Bayrakli
Project leader
USA
My name is Selin, I am a high school junior from the United States. I joined this project because I have a passion for helping people, whether that means minorities, marginalized communities, or uneducated youth. Unfortunately, countless lives are lost each year because of the HPV and other related cancers. With this project, we will be able to spread awareness and increase intergenerational communication about HPV and the HPV vaccine that can save lives and I am very excited to be part of it!

Jasmine Akman
Project coordinator
USA
My name is Jasmine, I am a high school junior from the United States. I joined this project because I have a passion for medicine and helping people is the only thing in life that feels fulfilling, therefore, I want to become a doctor. With that in mind, a big part of medicine is prevention and education, which is what I want to do as a member. Education increases communication and with that, many lives can be saved.

Lily Akman
Project coordinator
USA
My name is Lily, I am a high school junior from the United States. I joined this project to educate people. I believe that learning and understanding is power and without it, people can easily miss out on great opportunities like preventing diseases that may be detrimental in the future. I believe that lives are saved with information.
